I was introduced to this interpreted but also compile aware scripting layer that helps developers leave quite some of the efforts behind especially if interested in adding quick jdbc connections and sql queries in non-standard (read much faster) ways.
Actually I was sceptical initially because Groovy is still in its beta, but then I realized I could have used it for my POC work and it would save me a lot of headache.
Anyways there is always a next time :-)
